The purging of the jews by Hitler. A 14 year old Iraqi girl being raped by american soldiers while her parents and sister were being gunned down. The rape and killing of children aged 14 to 12 in india, least i forget they we’re chopped to pieces.The Virginia Tech shooting,killing 33 including the shooter, the beheaded construction workers at Mindanao,killing 7, the bombings at Baghdad last week (and every other day i think)killing lots of people.. everywhere else in the world someone loses a loved one.

They say that death comes to everyone, i just don’t get it why some had to die brutally and it makes me ask…where is God in all this? I don’t question the existence of God,I know there is one… looking on, and maybe wondering too what had come of his people.

They say that things happen for a reason, that’s the one thing that i dont understand. Are we put into this world to be victims? kinda like cattles being hand picked.. whos gonna be eaten next! Are other people meant to die, like in the holocaust or the Rwanda Genocide and would you believe the average life span of a Sierra Leonean(West Africa) is 38 years for men and 42 years for women, are those to be examples for us still living? We are fortunate to be breathing, living in our cozy little homes with our love ones, enjoying friends company, drinking our lattes, or bickering at little things that didnt go our way while others are being raped, mutilated, enslaved, beheaded.I don’t think that we ever learn from the past or the present, if we do then why are there still too many blood being spilled? Are we just blood thirsty beings by nature? war freaks? like there’s no sense in our lives if we dont butcher each other? Gosh what a sick sick world we live in… makes you want to think that maybe we all deserve to die.. how sad.. =(

War

a few days ago we watched Blood Diamond. the movie was good but i find it really depressing. I find it sad that in reality those things happen, children being exploited, brainwashed to believe in something that’s still too huge for them to fully understand, that killing is right, that what they are doing is freeing their enslaved country. I cannot argue over one’s dogma or the belief of a country, but still why use children to fight a mans war? A lot of lives lost, women being raped. its like we’re not human anymore, more like monsters. It reminds me of this article i read in the Philippine Daily Inquirer, that we are the true martians. Indeed maybe we are, because in the 5,000 years of recorded history there has only been 27 years of peace. out of the 22,000 DAYS from 1945 to 2005 there has only been 26 days of peace. i doubt though that another day will be added to that 26 days what with the wars in Iraq, Afganistan and other parts of the world. It is sad to know that we are capable of destroying one another, that we can’t seem to have our fill of wars. That we always seem to find something to fight about, that we are capable of such horror. Maybe one day all this war will end because there will be no more human beings left to wage war on, new weapons aim to be more destructive so i guess that’ll wipe us all in due time.
